Vet the Vote Featured in VA News

VA News is telling the Vet the Vote story, and it's a good one.

A new feature from VA News highlights why veterans and military families make some of the most trusted poll workers in the country. The piece spotlights Navy veteran Julie Hendricks, who found that the responsibility she felt overseas carried straight into her work at the polls, and Vietnam veterans Craig Jones and Michael Mabes, who met while working an election together and have served side by side in eight elections since.

The numbers tell the rest of the story. Since 2022, more than 165,000 Veterans and military family members have signed up to serve as poll workers, part of a goal to recruit 250,000 by backing from a coalition of more than 50 organizations, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the NFL, VFW and NASCAR.

With the November midterms approaching, the need for reliable poll workers only grows. Elections don't run themselves, and Veterans keep showing up to make sure they run right.
