VOTING IN NEVADA

Everything you need to know to vote in Nevada.

ELIGIBILITY & REGISTRATION

Deadline

Mail-in: 28 days before Election Day.
Online: 7 days before Election Day.

How to register

  • Register by mail or online
  • Register in-person at NV DMV office, county clerk or registrar of voter’s’ office, at various social service agencies, and on college campuses.
  • Same-day registration is also available during early voting and on Election Day

MILITARY & OVERSEAS VOTERS

Complete the Federal Postcard Application (FPCA).

Receive your ballot, or use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB).

Return your marked ballot by Election Day, or the 5th day after voting from overseas.

ID REQUIREMENTS

Nevada voters generally do not need to show photo ID if their signature can be verified in the election roster.
Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • Voter registration card
  • Driver’s license
  • Nevada DMV identification card
  • Military ID
  • Other government-issued identification containing a signature and photo or physical description

VOTING BY MAIL

  • Every active registered voter in Nevada automatically receives a mail ballot.
  • Voters may return their ballot by mail, at a secure drop box, or at any voting location in their county.
  • Mail ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received by the county elections office within four days after the elections

Early voting runs from 17 days before each election and ends the Friday before Election Day.
For the 2026 general election, early voting runs from October 17–30.

BECOME A POLL WORKER IN NEVADA

To serve, you must:

  • Be a registered voter in Nevada
  • Be at least 16 years old (with parental permission if under 18)

Duties may include:

  • Checking in voters
  • Issuing ballots
  • Assisting voters
  • Counting ballots after polls close
Paid Service Earn Hourly Pay Poll workers are paid, though compensation varies by county and assignment.

Nevada State Lead

Matthew DeFalco is a U.S. Army veteran who served as a Patriot Missile Operator and Maintainer during Operation Enduring Freedom. He continued serving others as a firefighter with the Bureau of Land Management, protecting communities and natural resources across the American West. He remains actively engaged in his community, serving as Vice President of Government Affairs for the Las Vegas Area Council of Scouting America and as a board member of Leaders in Training. He leads local outreach and partnerships that keep Nevada-based veterans informed, engaged, and connected.
