How to Vote: 3 Easy Steps
Register using the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) or any official voter registration form.
Email ST-UOCAVAApp@pa.gov for FPCA, or ST-UOCAVAQues@pa.gov to request a paper voter registration form.
Request your ballot via mail-in ballot or use the Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot (FWAB).
Request deadline is approximately 7 days before Election Day. Use any official voter registration form to request your ballot by mail.
Complete and return your ballot by Election Day.
Your ballot must be postmarked by Election Day and received by Pennsylvania election officials. Contact your county elections office for specific deadlines.
ID REQUIREMENTS
First-time voters in Pennsylvania must bring a valid photo or non-photo ID to vote. Acceptable forms include:
- Pennsylvania driver's license or ID card
- U.S. passport or military ID
- Voter registration card or utility bill with your name and address
Subsequent voters: If you've voted before in your county, you may not need to show ID. Check with your polling place.
VOTING BY MAIL
Pennsylvania registered voters can vote by mail with no excuse required. You have three options:

Mail-In Ballot: Apply for a no-excuse ballot through your county election office. Request deadline is October 27, 2026.

On-Demand Balloting: Visit your county election office to apply, receive, vote, and submit your ballot all in one visit—no mailing needed.

Absentee Ballot: If out of your municipality or unable to vote in person due to disability or illness, you may request an absentee ballot with reason provided.
General Election Nov. 3, 2026
Register to vote by October 19, 2026. Request mail-in or absentee ballots by October 27. There is no early voting period, but you can apply for and vote a mail ballot in person at your county election office anytime before Election Day.

Poll Worker Requirements
- Registered to vote in the county where you work
- Not a government employee (exceptions: district judges, notaries public, PA National Guard)
- Your name cannot appear on the ballot
- Available for full Election Day (7:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
